Rebecca Bennett is an award winning freelance producer based in Sydney, Australia.

Rebecca’s most recent feature documentary Ghosthunter had its world premiere at The Sydney Film Festival 2018 - where it received the top documentary prize - the Documentary Australia Foundation award.

Ghosthunter's premiered internationally at Sheffield Docfest, 2018 - followed by a successful festival run including MIFF, Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, DocMX and Austin Film Festival. Ghosthunter was nominated for four AACTA awards including best feature doco, taking home the award for best editing as well as the AWGIE for best writing.

In 2019 Rebecca executive produced the Ghosthunter Audio Original podcast for Audible. The Ghosthunter podcast was one of the first Australian Audio originals and was reviewed as one of the top 5 scary podcasts to listen to by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Rebecca’s latest feature ‘Norita’ produced alongside Daniel Joyce at Projector Films and directed by Jason McNamara recently won the DocSociety, AFTRS and Screen NSW New Perspectives Pitch Lab and will be completed in 2021.

Rebecca is also a well respected TV commercial producer, specialising in high end TV commercials, music videos and digital content - shooting both locally and internationally. Having produced through companies including Exit Films, Winifred, The Feds and Jungleboys. Rebecca has produced for many of Australia’s award winning commercial and music video directors such as Josh Logue and Ben Lawrence for Australia’s biggest agencies, brands and government departments.

Rebecca is in development on several long form projects both documentary and fiction as well as a fiction podcast with US development backing.

Rebecca takes a strong interest in social justice issues and is passionate about storytelling.
